"The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" Suprises YouTube
Those of you who haven’t been on YouTube in the past hour or two probably haven’t yet noticed that our favorite anti-heroine has taken over YouTube’s front page banner and replaced it with a cold and stark Swedish landscape.
As if that weren’t enough, a new clip of what seems to be the final album version of Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross’ cover of “Immigrant Song" featuring Karen O was also posted! The clip plays for about 7 seconds, and sounds much better than the clip we heared in the teaser (which is already pure ecstasy). Its guitar-heavy and totally punk rock. Something tells me this will be played during the scene were Lisbeth meets Miriam at The Mill, one of Stockholm’s hot nightclubs highlighted in the film.
Accompanying the song clip is a spectacularly gritty video where one can see dark liquid matter oozing over and taking hold of a female. I’m going to assume that this is Lisbeth, as a dragon and a rose are “born” from this matter. Evil Shall With Evil Be Expelled? Maybe Reznor’s Dec. 2nd announcement will tell us exactly what it is.
There is also a 30-second teaser following the clip. If you pay close attention, you will see one of Henrik’s flowers flashed before they display the film’s release date near the end. Subliminal messaging. Definitely up Fincher’s alley.
"The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" score to be released on Mute Records
Oscar-winning composer Trent Reznor recently announced via Twitter that his and musical partner Atticus Ross’ soundtrack for David Fincher’s upcoming adaption of “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" will be released via Mute Records outside of North America.
The score will presumably be released in North America by The Null Corporation, which also released the duo’s award-winning score for Fincher’s “The Social Network" last year. In addition to Reznor & Ross’ scores, The Null Corporation also releases the work of Nine Inch Nails (post Year Zero) and How to Destroy Angels- Reznor and Ross’ musical side-project.
Much in the style of Lisbeth Salander, the namesake of the sensational best-selling trilogy, Reznor gave one additional cryptic detail stating that more information on the soundtrack would be available on December 2nd.
Some of us have waited for the film and soundtrack since May, when that awesome teaser set to Reznor & Ross’ cover of Zeppelin’s “Immigrant Song” was leaked. What’s one month more?
